Treats nighttime leg cramps. Sometimes used to treat malaria.
Contraindications:
You should not use this medicine if you have ever had an allergic reaction to quinine, other antimalarial medicines, or to quinidine (heart medicine).
Uses:
Capsule, Tablet, Long Acting Tablet
Your doctor will tell you how much to take and how often.
Quinine may be taken with food or milk if it upsets your stomach.
If a dose is missed:
Take the missed dose as soon as possible.
If it is almost time for your next regular dose, wait until then to take the medicine and skip the missed dose.
You should not use two doses at the same time.
Storage:
Store the medicine in a tightly closed container away from heat, light, and moisture.
Keep all medicine out of the reach of children.
Special precautions:
Before taking, tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to any medications. tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking. tell your doctor if you have or have ever had heart failure or liver disease. tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. Talk to your doctor if you have G-6-PD deficiency, myasthenia gravis, asthma, serious heart disease, eye nerve damage, blackwater fever, or other medical problems before you take this medicine.
