Contraindications:
You should not use this medicine if you have ever had an allergic reaction to nizatidine or to related medicines such as Tagamet®, Zantac®, or Pepcid®.
Uses:
Tablet, Capsule
Your doctor will tell you how much to take and how often.
If you are taking: One dose a day, take at bedtime. Two doses a day, take one in the morning and one at bedtime. Several doses daily, take doses with your meals and at bedtime.
If a dose is missed:
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember.
Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose.
You should not use two doses at the same time.
Storage:
Store nizatidine at room temperature, away from heat moisture, and light.
Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
Special precautions:
Before taking, tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to any medications. tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking. tell your doctor if you have or have ever had heart failure or liver disease. tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking, call your doctor
You should not use nizatidine within 2 hours before or after taking ketoconazole (an antifungal drug).
Avoid large amounts of aspirin while taking nizatidine.
Warnings:
Talk to your doctor before taking nizatidine if you have kidney or liver disease or are pregnant or breastfeeding
Nizatidine may not work as well if you smoke.
Talk to your doctor if your symptoms are not better while taking this medicine.
