Uses:

• Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to take and how often.
• Take your medicine before eating.
• It is best to swallow the capsule whole. But if you have trouble swallowing the capsule, open it and sprinkle the granules on a spoonful of applesauce or other soft food. Swallow the medicine right away. Do not chew the granules.
• Do not stop taking this medicine until your doctor tells you to, even if you feel better.

• Take your medicine as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose.
• Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next usual dose.
• You should not use two doses at the same time.

Storage:

• Store the capsules at room temperature, away from heat and direct light.
• Ask your pharmacist, doctor, or health caregiver about the best way to dispose of any outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed.
• Keep all medicine out of the reach of children.

Special precautions:

• Make sure your doctor knows if you are also taking theophylline, sucralfate (Carafate®), iron, amoxicillin, or ketoconazole.
• Avoid drinking alcohol or smoking tobacco because these things can increase your stomach acid.

Warnings:

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
• Make sure your doctor knows if you have liver disease or any blood disorders.
