Uses:

• Your doctor will tell you how much to take and how often.
• May be taken with or without food.
• You may swallow the tablet whole or crush it.
• Shake the oral liquid well before using. Carefully measure the dose with a marked measuring spoon or medicine cup.
• Keep taking the medicine for as long as your doctor tells you to.

• Take your medicine as soon as you remember.
• If it is nearly time for your next dose, wait until then to take your medicine and skip the missed dose.
• You should not use two doses at the same time.

Storage:

• Keep your tablets at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Do not freeze. After 14 days, throw away any medicine that was not used.
• Ask your pharmacist, doctor, or health caregiver about the best way to dispose of any outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed.
• Keep all medicine out of the reach of children.

Special precautions:

• Make sure your doctor knows if you are taking cimetidine (Tagamet®), rifampin, Dilantin®, theophylline, Coumadin®, cyclosporine, zidovidine (AZT), or diabetes medicine.

Warnings:

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
• Make sure your doctor knows if you have liver disease, kidney disease, or other medical problems before you take this medicine.

Side Effects:

• Yellow skin or eyes
• Extreme tiredness, nausea
• Pale-colored stools
• Dark or orange-colored urine
• Severe stomach pain (especially on your right side)
• Skin rash or hives
• Stomach upset
• Loss of appetite
• Diarrhea
• Headache or dizziness
