You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to bisoprolol, hydrochlorothiazide, sulfa drugs, or other blood pressure medicines (such as atenolol, propranolol). Make sure your doctor knows if you are also using digoxin (Lanoxin®), cholestyramine (Questran®), colestipol (Colestid®), clonidine (Catapres®, Combipres®), diabetes medicine (insulin or oral medicine such as Avandia®, Glucophage®), diuretics or "water pills" (such as furosemide, Hyzaar®, Lasix®, Moduretic®), pain or arthritis medicine (such as aspirin, diclofenac, ibuprofen, Advil®, Aleve®, Motrin®, Orudis®), steroids (such as cortisone, prednisone, Azmacort®, Flonase®), medicines to treat abnormal heart rhythm such as disopyramide (Norpace®), or other blood pressure medicine (such as atenolol, metoprolol, verapamil, Accupril®, Adalat®, Altace®, Cardizem®, Ismelin®, Lotensin®, Lotrel®, Procardia®, Tiazac®, Toprol®, Vasotec®, Zestril®).

Make sure your doctor knows if you are using any medicines that make you sleepy (such as sleeping pills, cold and allergy medicine, narcotic pain relievers, or sedatives). Do not drink alcohol while you are using this medicine.

Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have lung problems, blood vessel disorders, diabetes, gout, liver disease, kidney disease, problems urinating, overactive thyroid, or circulation problems.

Do not stop using this medicine suddenly without asking your doctor. You may need to slowly decrease your dose before stopping it completely. Make sure any doctor or dentist who treats you knows that you are using this medicine.

Your doctor will need to check your blood or urine at regular visits while you are using this medicine. Be sure to keep all appointments.

This medicine may make you dizzy or drowsy. Avoid driving, using machines, or doing anything else that could be dangerous if you are not alert.
