You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to benzonatate in the past.
Uses:
Capsule, Liquid Filled Capsule
Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to take and how often.
Swallow the capsules whole; do not crush or chew. Chewing the capsule may numb your mouth and throat and you could choke.
If a dose is missed:
Take the missed dose as soon as possible.
If it is almost time for the next dose, wait until then to take your medicine and skip the missed dose.
You should not use two doses at the same time.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the original tightly closed, light-resistant container.
Store at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and light.
Ask your pharmacist, doctor, or health caregiver about the best way to dispose of any outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed.
Keep all medicine away from children.
Special precautions:
Before taking, tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to any medications. tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking. tell your doctor if you have or have ever had heart failure or liver disease. tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking, call your doctor
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine.

Benzonatate is not recommended for children younger than 10 years old.
